Central Coast Philharmonia Youth Choir

The Central Coast Philharmonia is pleased to announce the formation of a youth choir under the musical direction of Kyle Williams. This is part of the Philharmonia’s program to develop musical appreciation and skills for the young people of the Central Coast, and is open to those between the ages of 16 (approximately Year 10) to university. The choir, although part of the main choir, will learn and perform choral music more appropriate for younger people. At CCP concerts it will perform its own pieces and sometimes join the main choir. It will give its members the opportunity to learn challenging and engaging works from Australia and around the world, to experience the joy of singing with a large choir in front of a large audience. There will also be opportunities to solo.

For further information on how to join, please contact Kyle Williams:
 CCPyouthchoir@gmail.com Phone: 0408 654 566.

Kyle Williams (director and conductor)

Kyle has been singing professionally since 1999, completing his Music/Teaching degree from the University of Newcastle in 2003. Since then, he has worked full-time as a Secondary Music Teacher and is currently working as a Head Teacher Creative and Performing Arts at a high school in Sydney. He joined the internationally renowned University of Newcastle  Chamber  Choir  in  2000,   and will  join  them  on their tour of the USA this year as they compete in the World Choir Games representing Australia. Kyle is also a member of the Newcastle-based vocal quartet Short Back & Sides. He is passionate about developing and promoting the engagement, self-esteem and vocal/performance technique of children and young adults, especially boys, in the Performing Arts, and is extremely excited about the opportunity to conduct the newly formed Central Coast Philharmonia Youth Choir in 2012 and beyond.
